Sermon Snippet

What do you hunger for? Recognition? Power? Love?
I have a friend who had an unfulfilled dream. He wanted to be a dancer on Broadway. Yet to my knowledge, he never studied dance. He lived in Canada not New York. So for those readings, his dream went unfulfilled.
Others have bigger dreams. Martin Luther King talked of his dream where children of all different races would live and work together in harmony.
Some dream of world peace. Some dream of an end to injustice.
But it is one thing to dream a dream. In order for dreams to work, you need to put your thoughts and dreams into action. In order to make things work, you need to put your money where your mouth is to make this happen. Isn't there a saying that the Road to Hell is paved with good intentions? Thoughts are not enough.

In todays gospel, we are presented with a problem. The people who came to hear Jesus are hungry. Jesus could have sat back and done nothing about it- just thought that is sad that the people are hungry. But instead he acts. He tells the disciples to share what they have. And
somehow in that model of sharing, the people were fed.

Join us Sunday as we talk about sharing our gifts.
